The Headwaters
Elemental worked with BCG Communications to create four short videos to promote The Headwaters, a new luxury condominium development to be built along Lake of the Woods, Ontario.
We created a video for each season, to showcase the beauty of the area in Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. The imagery is made up of still photography, with motion graphics used to bring it all to life.
MTS Connect :: Smart Phones, Smart People
MTS Connect needed a way to show off their massive selection of mobile phones and data devices at their new retail location. Luckily, their stunning new store gave us lots of material to work with. Elemental’s production team shot the commercial on the Panasonic HVX200, and we loved the new P2 card workflow.
Saskatchewan Rocks :: Interactive Branding
Picante Advertising and Elemental developed a very animated mini-site for Saskatchewan Credit Unions called “Saskatchewan Rocks.” Featuring three, lovable talking rocks in the middle of the prairie, visitors to the site are able to send personalized messages to friends starring the rocks, and proclaiming what it takes to be a true Saskatchewanian.
Manitoba Dental Association :: Smiling Faces
We like a good challenge at Elemental. That’s why when director Jeff Newman approached us to create a “completely different” kind of commercial for the Manitoba Dental Association, we jumped at the chance.
Our main goal with the commercial was to associate bright, healthy smiles with all the important moments in life. Elemental’s Simon Burgess and Jeff Newman developed a script that would capture those moments - from holding your baby and playing with your kids, to a successful work life and an active retirement - and tie them all together seamlessly in a colourful, animated environment.
We spent a fast-paced day capturing footage of our actors and models in front of a green screen. We then composited the footage with the animated world we created.
The end result? An innovative and unique commercial for the Manitoba Dental Association, a lot of smiling faces, and a 2008 Signature Award for Best TV/Cinema.
Victoria General Hospital :: Making Miracles Happen
Elemental has been fortunate enough to have worked with the Victoria General Hospital for a couple of years now. This year, we produced a promotional video and a number of commercials for the Medicine & Miracles campaign, aimed at raising money for the hospital’s redevelopment project.
Featuring heart-felt and inspiring interviews with patients and staff, the video and commercials are a testament to the hospital’s extraordinary impact on Winnipeg.

Canadian Armed Forces :: Training Video
Environmental consulting firm Westworth Associates Environmental Ltd. commissioned Elemental to produce a training video aimed at new recruits at Canadian Forces Base Shilo. Designed to promote environmental sensitivity while training at CFB Shilo, our client wanted the video to be youthful and exciting while still being educational.
Shot over six days at the military base, the Elemental production team captured some amazing footage of live artillery exercises and training drills. Highlights included Adam getting motion sickness from a long ride in a Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) and Simon firing a Howitzer. The end result is an extremely fast-paced 10-minute video.
Edwards School of Business :: Interactive Branding
We once again teamed up with our friends at Picante Advertising to create a mini-site for Edwards School of Business in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The mini-site features 25 inspiring video profiles of Aboriginal graduates and students. Elemental created the motion graphics packaging of the videos, as well as post-production.
Only Oats :: Interactive Branding
Elemental once again teamed up with the programming gurus at Simian Systems to create a unique web experience for Only Oats. Featuring video interviews with dietitians, cooking demonstrations with celebrity chef Rob Fuller, and shareable recipe cards, the website has become an online community for people interested in healthy lifestyles and low-gluten diets.
Game On Manitoba :: Trade Show Video
Game On Manitoba, an initiative launched by industry and government stakeholders to develop Manitoba’s video game industry, commissioned Elemental to create a looping motion graphics presentation for the 2008 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
